Of trees

I've finally, finally got round to developing my last roll of film. I tend to take lots of photos of trees, which some people find boring. I don't know why, but I'm drawn to them, especially in winter. They make for quite striking subjects. These are either from Stockholm or from London.

(possibly Nelson's Column?)

And for some colour, in Stockholm (I think of gingerbread houses)

One can't mention trees without the Christmas variety. I am lucky enough to have some glass decorations left over from my grandmother who brought them from Vienna- they are 50 or 60 years old. Every year there are fewer and fewer as they are so fragile. We decorated the tree last night to the sounds of Shakin' Stevens, Bing Crosby (and David Bowie), the Vienna Choir Boys and more besides. I'm not sure I'm totally in the Christmas spirit though.

  4. I think they look incredible! Especially the first three - the fisheye lense gives them a refereshing sense of purpose, like there's an eerie sense of narrative behind them maybe. Either way they're lovely, can't wait to see more ;)

Your Christmas tree looks so cosy and wholesome, so much better than mine which looks awfully coordinated and sterile...

  9. Oh my, that first picture is my favourite! They are all amazing, but that one just catches my eye. I also adore winter trees, there is something about them that just draws me in, like Sleepy Hollow.

    xx and hugs
