little joys

I am so thankful for people's words in my previous post. I knew I was not alone, but it's still good to hear of others' experiences, we all seem to have high achieving friends, or dreams that haven't quite come to fruition yet. There really is such a scarcity of jobs out there in the sort of fields I am interested in- one finds mostly either volunteer/internship roles or senior, managerial positions. Of course those that do crop up will attract a huge amount of attention. One of my closest friends said to me- do something that makes you happy every day. It sounds simple, but I suppose when you're in your dead end job, wishing for it to be home time all the time, a little bit of joy goes a long way, whether it be baking a cake on a monday, writing a poem on a tuesday, or going to the cinema on a wednesday.. I shall of course keep looking and hoping also. Yesterday's fun time was watching America's Next Top Model (even the boy is into it). The light in our lounge doesn't work though so it is impossible to read or write or paint. Today's mission: to get it fixed!

I found these clogs in Topshop marked down to £15 which I thought quite the bargain, even if I cannot walk far in them.. skirt and coat also Topshop, Breton top from H n M, both belts vintage.

  1. Oh how I miss ANTM. We don't have Sky anymore and Living is the only tv channel that I really miss watching :(

    That skirt is gorgeous!

  3. That pleated skirt is beautiful! I love your clogs so much, I tried on a pair just like those but found them so so hard to walk in because they are so heavy so I didn't end up getting them.
I am a little nervous too when it comes to jobs, I want to work in film and that is such a hard industry to get into that at the moment I am trying not to think too much about it while I'm doing my degree...

  4. Beautiful outfit, dear! It's hard for me too, in terms of finding a job that I would really enjoy. Though, I've not been to uni yet (I start this year in Feb) and haven't completed a degree - hopefully once that has been done.. I will find something. I'm determined to search high and low, for something that interests me. I truly hope you have a nice day :) and get that light fixed! xxx

  9. Snap! Yeah I love these clogs, but it's turned into a bit of a love/hate thing, what with spraining my ankle...although I was straight back in them as soon as I could put pressure on my foot!
Your outfit looks great :) Thank you so much for your comments xx

  20. I always see people at school, who have such ambitious goals that would require a lot of work to achieve eg. Doctors and the like. I question whether I should be pushing myself futher (I'm terrible at maths and science, despite the fact I try hard at everything), but then I think that, at the end of the day, I want to do something that I like and will make me happy, and I never doubt my subject or possible career choices again. So I agree with you 100%.

Your outfit is lovely as always:)

    xx Carina

  22. such pretty clogs and I love your skirt! I'm having a frustrating time job hunting at the moment, i keep on getting rejections telling me i have the qualifications but i don't the experience. So irritating. Your friend is right though! I alway try to plan to do lots of fun little things to do that cost little money, it forces me to be very creative.
