To the Max
I bought this maxi dress from Ringspun back in 2008- yet again it's time to recycle old items! The sandals (Primark) are pretty old and smell a bit musty but I can't be parted with them quite yet..

My mum is remaining fairly upbeat at present- the NHS can be terrible, and sometimes they can be amazing. So far she's been offered all sorts of services (she can have some aromatherapy and Indian head message sessions.., counselling etc) and already has a wig, which doesn't look too awful. She's planning to be more of a turban woman and I told her I have plenty of vintage scarves which can jazz things up too. I'm just really hoping it is as "straightforward" as going through 18 weeks of chemo, and slowly getting on with life. As silly as it seems, one of the saddest elements is my mum missing out on her new retired life in France. Our house there has been painstakingly renovated, added to, decorated and so on since she bought it in 1989. Now, finally, it's looking lovely with all sorts of finds from markets and bric a bracs, and now she's been torn away from all that, from her Ladies who Lunch meetings, pub quizzes, walks in the countryside and more besides. I can only hope that soon she can enjoy that all again.
I've also vaguely come to the decision to hand in my notice mid June, which would mean leaving mid July, in time for my move back to my mum's place. I simply don't have the time and energy to properly look for something else at the same time as carrying on this job... Speaking of jobs, D has finally got a new job! He'll be a paralegal for a law company earning about £6,000 more than we both are now, so I'm very happy for him. Now it's my turn!
