In the glade

I've been feeling a litle 'blah' about blogging.. my life really isn't one long photo opportunity. I work 9-5 every day and don't have that much time during the week to photograph my get ups. I should've started blogging when I was a student, although my housemates would've probably thought I was weird if I'd asked them to take photos of me (they were the weirdos really). My boyfriend already finds it tedious to take photos, although sometimes he'll actually get into it (ok turn the other way, hang on let me get a close up..). Obvs I don't have a DSLR or a tripod. I suppose if I ever have any money spare (not often) I tend to spend it on food/drink/clothes. It just seems a huge amount to spend (for a good one) in one go.

Maybe I'm just feeling blah overall. My mum's hair is starting to fall out so she's ordered some turbans online. She's still got more of a social life than me which is nice.

Anywho, I finally bought this dress after spotting it in Cordoba's Pull and Bear- it reminded me of this Topshop dress .

  6. I'm not surprised you're feeling a bit blah with your Mum being poorly as well. Don't put any pressure on yourself - blog about what you want, when you want. It doesn't always have to be about what you wear it can be about what inspires you too. But I have to say, I love this dress :) xxx

  7. Taking photographs is tedious and I have no one to take pictures of me as no one knows about my blog ha! I tend to just take photographs in my room but would love beautiful outdoor ones like yours. Work gets us all down, I always luck count the minutes down to my shift!

  8. Photographing is pretty tedious I agree, especially when you have to take about 50 before you look vaguely acceptable!
Your sandals are so pretty! The dress looks great as well :)

  9. I know what you mean about blogging. I sometimes think my blog is a bit crap. I dont know how to design layouts and my photos arnt that good quality to be honest. A bit small too. But I like the community and talking to people so I keep at it!

Love your sandals. They look perfect for the summer!

  10. You look gorgeous in these photos! I know the feeling. I haven't got a tripod or a very good camera either, and sometimes i just feel like "what's the point?" But I still love blogging, even though taking photos is tedious. Besides, your blog is somewhat famous so you should definitely keep it up! http://thearcenciel.blogspot.com/

  11. Your dress is ever so pretty! I'm sorry you're not feeling too great at the moment, and I can understand how then you can lose the motivation to blog, especially when there are more important things to do, and you are too tired/stressed after work, and with what's happening with your mum it's understandable that you don't want more things stressing you out. Good luck with everything, I hope you start feeling better soon, and best wishes to your mum.

  12. What lovely outfits you do have. Oh, my dear, I understand entirely too well how real life can sneak up on us when we would all rather be running through forests and meadows with flower crowns in our hair, writing and sipping tea in charming countryside cottages. We must stay brave and remember the little things, the smell of flowers on the breeze or a good story or book. I'm terribly sorry to hear such things of your mother, mine is so important to me and one of my greatest fears is losing her. She has been battling with many various ailments as of late and I never stop worrying. But I will fight for her until the end. Keep your chin up sweetling, and savour each and every bit of magic.

    xx and hugs

  20. I know what you mean about life not being one long photo opportunity! It's extremely frustrating when it's one of the key things people enjoy about most blogs...

I've been thinkin' the same thing about blogging lately. I desperately wanna be full on into it, but I've been so busy and haven't got people wanting to take pictures for me. :/

I hope you stick with it, though. I really enjoy your blog!

  24. These pictures are really pretty you don't need a DSLR dear (although I really want one so I know what you mean). I always take my own photos using a tripod, because I don't think my boyfriend really likes doing it which in turn makes me feel uncomfortable...anyway, I love the dress it's really pretty and styled perfectly xxx

  26. Oh I do know how you feel. My life has been lacking in inspiring things recently, with all these exams. I would really love a DSLR too, may never get one but a girl can dream :)

I do hope you feel better about blogging, because I would miss you terribly if you left.

  28. Your dress is lovely and I know what you mean I wish I'd started my blog when I was a student cos I had so much time then! I've only just discovered your blog (after your lovely comment on mine thank you!) so didn't know about your Mum, I'm so sorry about it all and I really hope you're all ok, my Mum had breast cancer last year so I sort of know what you're going through xxxx

  31. I often feel that way about blogging because I don't have a fancy camera - as much as i'd love one. i guess half my problem is that I don't have the money to buy a million outfits to do outfit of the day posts either! Hehe x

  40. I hope you'll stick around blogging, though I understand that a real schedule can make it difficult. I think I'm lucky in that my boyfriend actually likes taking the pictures (most of the time). But hey, I really don't think DSLRs are necessary (when not with my boyfriend I use my Sony Cybershot) and tripods don't have to be expensive. I think mine was about $40 (erm, £27-ish) and I'm absolutely certain you could get a cheaper one on ebay or somewhere.

Also, that dress is a lot like the Alexa Chung one. I actually thought it was and that you'd altered it. Damn, I'll have to check out Pull and Bear...

I'm really sorry about your mom, but it's good that she's already in treatment I suppose. Lots of well wishes, again, to you both.xx

  41. I agree with Emily above...I do hope you stick around. It's tough when inspiration is lacking. I've been through blah periods too before. It will eventually get better:)

Anyways, you look so pretty. I love the tan colored dress on you and those sandals are incredibly gorgeous.

Wishing the best for your mom and you both. xx Marisa
