Messing about on stairs

I seem to have got into the knack of putting a top over a dress these days. This maxi has a plunging v-neck rather inappropriate for work I feel, so a black t-shirt sorts that out.

Maxi: Ringspun//T shirt: Topshop//Sandals: Marypaz

(And no, we haven't moved into a prison, it's bars on the window which give onto a flat roof..)

Here are our famous stairs which will be painted white. Instead of having a carpet runner going up the middle I'm thinking of painting it light green/grey, with a little black trim (inflatable orange dog optional):

This is what I shall be doing with my Friday night, I'm rock n roll me.

  6. This is a really good idea! I hate showing off my shoulders so putting a top over a strappy or strapless dress would be great for me!

  14. I really love the print of your maxi dress, and it looks great with the t-shirt, whenever I try putting a t-shirt over a dress it doesn't look right (I think because my dresses finish at the wrong time?) The material sort of gathers under the t-shirt (if that makes sense). Have fun decorating your flat, my friday is even less exciting, I'm just indoors doing nothing!

  19. That maxi is so beautiful. I wish I had your knack of looking effortlessly slim and casual with layering but I always just look bumpy and odd when I try putting tshirts over things!

  34. I wear blouses over my maxi dresses too! I like dressing in layers so I'd say I like wearing maxis this way versus just wearing them plain :)
