Wedding Bells

So last weekend I went to D's sister's wedding, a huge affair in a castle near Shrewsbury. I've only been to two weddings before, and this one was lovely- the weather was perfect, the food was tasty, everyone was well behaved (for once there were no class A drugs).
I wore a dress from Topshop, New Look Heels, vintage necklace and headband thing from Forever 21. D was an usher so he looks suitably smart! Sorry for the huge amount of photos, I seem to keep doing this these days!
Please also admire my bubble blowing.

I've been feeling quite blah recently. Lack of money, lack of structure, lack of feeling. I don't regret leaving my job, but I do feel quite nothingy now.

I was also featured yesterday on the Be In Style Best of the Web . The website has all sorts of different categories the overarching theme being about shopping on a budget (of even more concern to me at the minute), and not just for clothes, I'm happy to see a pet section there (including what to feed geriatric cats), and a home one too. It was nice to get an email, especially as I've been feeling quite blah about the blog as well lately. I'm not one to care much about page views, traffic, SEO etc but when things go quite quiet, I suppose you start to think you're a little boring, I think it anyway- am I just banging out outfit post after outfit post, just going through the motions? Maybe I'm a little lacking in inspiration.
((this wasn't a sponsored post or anything, they featured me so I'm #justsayin :))

  3. Congratulations on the feature, and congratulations to the happily married couple. I love your dress - I've been eyeing it up in Topshop and wish I could afford to make it mine!

Don't worry about your blog - I definitely enjoy it and would be prepared to bet that many others feel the same. It's hard to feel like you're offering excitement when you feel a lack of routine but that's okay. We all experience it!

  6. The castle looks lovely, as did the bride - her flowers are amazing colours! I do love the outfit you chose - that headband is great, such a 30s vibe.
Don't feel Blah about your blog, it's one of my faves. You engage with a lot of people, you always have so many comments and you deserve them. I think everyone goes through spells like this but keep the outfit posts coming.
Hope you have a nice weekend. xx

  8. Those are some amazing photos. I know what you mean with the whole blogging thing. I try not to watch the pageviews and all that stuff. I keep telling myself just to stick to what's going on in my life and what I'm truly inspired by. It can be hard though when you see low #'s, low comments, etc etc...I think you have a lovely blog and are well deserved to be featured. xoxo

  10. Wonderful wedding. The bride and atmosphere brilliant.
Take your time , and if you don´t feel like blogging for a time, don´t, and take a break. This should be a pleasure, life has already enough duties.

  11. You look lovely in your dress, it's such a pretty colour on you. Congratulations on being featured in best of the web - that's pretty amazing. I get how you feel about blogging, sometimes it's hard to be always inspired by it. I'd say to blog about things you really enjoy and not what you think you should blog about to keep people happy. I always enjoy posts where people are passionate about the topic, and I feel like you should blog whenever you want/are feeling inspired.

I completely understand about the job situation The transition between having a job (even though it was horrible) and not having one is always hard and a little strange. When you find your dream job it'll all be worth it though O_O! How's your volunteering going?!

  40. Oh, Im terribly sorry I've been so absent from this place for so long, things swallow you at times. You two look perfectly stunning together, I especially adore the dress and headband, you look very gorgeous and exotic. I've been seeing A LOT of lace lately and I'm loving it, I am automatically drawen to it, the other day I grabbed and amazing lilac lace dress and some mary jane heels at an antique store, and Im waiting on a lovely mint green peter-pan collar lace dress. I'm going to be all laced out pretty soon, if that's even possible :p

Don't feel nothingy, I think its normal, that's how I felt when I wasn't working just keep yourseld busy with magical things dearest. And know that you are certainly NOT boring! Sorry for the epic comment haha.

  49. Thanks for lovely comment! I am so loving my nails and was super careful with them as I cooked Spaghetti Carbonara for my family tonight.

To answer your question- my job is Social Media and Project Leader for a company that provides deaf services. As I am deaf myself, I can easily get the company's name out there in the deaf community via social networking sites/deaf events/deaf clubs/by mouth. I am also responsible of setting up an event where deaf businesses and organisations could advertise their stuff- encouraging deaf people to come together and network. I have to bring in the money into the company too. Exciting stuff!

Sorry to hear about how you're feeling down. Maybe you can look for something to do, something crafty maybe. To relight your inspiration. Your blog is lovely as always, do not worry! Keep going and you will find a path.

Your head piece is gorgeous in the first picture!! I am so stealing this look. ;)
