Me and D went for a stroll over Primrose Hill- a park we'd both visited a lot as kids (not together I hasten to add), but not so much since. We tried to figure out how to get to the street with all the cafes and went round the scenic houses to get there. We had to reward ourselves with a pot of Earl Grey and scones- cue a debate over pronounciation, D saying that "scone" to rhyme with gone is the posh way (the way I say it) and "scone" that rhymes with cone is his way and thus the common way..
We were both in agreement that clotted cream must be served with them and were disappointed by the airy cream on offer here. I think the tea and scones together came to something ridiculous like £7.80..

PS: In case you hadn't noticed I've dyed my hair "Black Cherry" and rather like it.

  3. This looks like such a charming place!! I wish we had little tea houses and cafes like this where I love. The scones look delicious though I do agree...that would come to like $10.00 in us dollars and that is steep for breakfast. I really love our cozy sweater, something I definitely want to invest more in for this winter. Quite gorgeous as always..and I love the black cherry hair color...subtle and very pretty:)

  4. scone to rhyme with 'cone' is way posher! i'm a scone-gone girl and that will always be our common northern way. :)

i love that purple house, absolutely adorable and am so excited by your topshop car boot sale find! always feels amazing when really, really nice high street brands find you in places like that. car boot sales are great.

have a good week rachel my love. xx

  8. i was actually going to comment last post on your hair because it looked different (more vibrant?) somehow but thought it would be a bit awkward if you hadn't done anything to it! Looks lovely though :)

Also, I used to pronounce 'scone' the cone way but then was corrected and was told it was meant to be pronounced like 'gone' and i'm quite convinced that it is right, which means clearly YOU are right too hahaha

  10. I love Primrose hill. I used to go up there a lot and try to spot Sienna Miller - needless to say I failed!
Love your outfit, I'm on the hunt for a winter themed jumper.
I'm with you on my pronounciation of scone. However, clotted cream, jam and tea are the only way to eat them for me!

  15. I hate how much places charge for afternoon tea - even good old M&S like to charge nearly eight pounds. Does look yummy though x

The scones look sooo yummy, such a pity they weren't served with clotted cream. And yes, it's an outrage how overpriced afternoon tea is everywhere!

  20. Hey Rachel thanks for such a lovely comment on my relationship post! Yeah I think I made the right decision but you're right it is hard when your involved to think objectively! I think with you and your bf as long as things are going well now I wouldn't worry too much about the future although so much easier said that done haha. I wish I didn't let mine go on so long with both of us miserable but at least this way I knew there's no way it would have worked out. Still better to love and lose than to never love at all hehe xx
