Dress: Dahlia//Coat: Vintage//Shoes and Bag: Topshop
For the first time in quite a while, I bothered to curl my hair. Of course I ended the day as a drowned rat (went out without an umbrella). Still it looked nice for about 20 minutes. This little number is from the Dahlia sale, I've always lusted after a Dahlia dress so was pretty happy to see quite a good selection on sale. I also have put in a cheeky purchase for something special, which I hope arrives soon...

I also made French Onion Soup which is amazing. I used a Delia recipe which I recommend. I know the picture doesn't look like much but huge croutons with Gruyere cheese are a must.

Happy New Year to all!

  6. I adore this dress on youuuuuu! The curly hair looks dreamy O_O mine is naturally curly so any rain/humid air sends it wild >_<

I have to admit i detest onion but the soup actually looks nice! (i was cofused as to what the cheese lumps were though >_< hehe)

Hope you have a lovely new year Rachel! <3 much love! xxx

  7. Wow you should curl you hair more often(when the rain is avoidable of course) as you look stunning! And I know I say this for so many of your outfits, but the dress is so lovely!

I'm looking forward to more of your posts in the new year :) I wish you a very successful one

  15. I absolutely adore that dress, it is so cute and it looks great on you! I never used to style my hair, it was the opposite of yours, naturally wavy. But just a week ago I cut it all off and donated it to cancer, so now I'm attempting to learn how to easily style short hair. I think I'm not doing too bad haha. Have an excellent New Years dearest!

  17. I actually prefer it when curls drop! I think it gives a much softer and more natural look. Your dress and coat are fantastic! Have a great new year!!

  18. Ahhh darn it! It's late at night and I was just congratulating myself for not succumbing to the snacking bug and then you had to go and mention french onion soup with guyere cheese smothered croutons. Now I'm drooling, with no soup and no cheesy croutons. Face palm. Cute dress and coat. Happy New Years!

  19. Summers where I live are very hot, humid and wet, but I make my curls stay up all day long by using a ton of hair spray (Tresemme Salon Finish Extra Hold) is excellent if you can find some.

I really love your dress, Dahlia makes some of the most adorable pieces!
Hope you have a lovely New Years Eve and I wish you all the best for 2012!!!

  23. You look incredibly pretty. That dress was on my wish list but can't find it in the sale now, nooo! It looks ace with the fur coat too.

I really want to try onion soup. The only thin that puts me off is I'm not too keen on large slices of onion but without the onion it'll just be onion water. It's on the to do list to try though. The bread with melted cheese looks immense. A big loaf of freshly baked bread and a good helping of jam and butter is a must for the winter!
