Treasure chest

So a few weeks ago I bought this trunk in a charity shop (snapped up more like, so many people were looking at it!). As you can see the inside wasn't up to much (and it smelt pretty funky). A few coats of paint and Cath Kidston scented drawer liners later, and voila.

Dress: Minkie//Shoes and coat: Topshop//Jumper: H&M//Satchel: New Look

This outfit photo shoot didn't go so well- the wind, generally not looking nice day etc, they all came out pretty terrible (and that wall is pretty rough looking)! I bought this dress ages ago in Topshop because of the collar (yes I know they're everywhere) but I'm only just getting round to wearing it now. I'm not sure this red suits my complexion.
Check out my little workshop- making cards (only for a select lucky few), brown paper packages tied up with string (lametta actually)..
In other news: France tomorrow! As was worked out last time, the internet is none existent or patchy at best (my mum has been sharing a Wireless connection and hasn't yet committed to her own.) so there won't be anything going on here until Wednesday 21st. Looking forward to seeing the kitties, sitting round the fire, checking out the huge thrift place again, and eating lots of course

ETA: And I just got offered a job, for a charity. Cannot quite believe it. Best Christmas present of 2011. :D

  22. Thank you for your sweet comments on my blog, thankfully I'm feeling more human today!!

I would have snapped this trunk up to, its fab and I love how you've revived it. I have a large black vintage suitcase that my in-laws-to-be were going to throw away, what I said, I'll have that, how could you think of throwing it?? It now stores all my wrapping paper, gift bags etc.

  38. Huge congratulations on your job offer. Love what you did with that trunk too. I have a nearly identical one bought by my mum from a junk shop when she was a student. I too painted mine (and filled in the woodworm holes). I use it to store some of my more flamboyant dressing up clothes.

  39. This is such a good find, I love reading about the gems bloggers find in charity shops. I think I just don't have the knack for it as whenever I visit one all I find are what look like old school trousers : /

  44. Oh! Congratulations on the job sweetling, I'm so terribly glad for you, I hope it turns out to be everything you could possibly wish for and more! Have an amazing time in France! How I wish I was able to travel to a place such as that so frequently as you do. And what an amazing treasure chest! I wish I had easy access to Cath kidston items, they are so very charming, but shipping them to Canada costs an arm and a leg I'm afraid (sadface). I also adore that necklace of yours! Have fun making all your little packages and treats, I know I am!
