Dress: Miss Selfridge// denim jacket: Monki//sandals: Topshop//Sunnies: Primark

D and I went to Golder's Hill Park on Monday, it was ridiculously windy but still nice to be out, and they have a little zoo with deer, lemur, donkeys and more (although I still felt the enclosures were a bit on the small side, but then I've never really liked zoos for that reason). We also had an annoying family who came and sat practically right next to us which I found really irritating considering there was a whole park for everyone's use- I think I have a low threshold for personal space when I'm out in public: no I don't want your drooling toddler touching my sandal, and no I don't want to hear you strumming a guitar badly either.

Anyway we're back to rainy grey weather which is far more normal for late May in the UK. Everything is trundling along, I feel quite ambivalent about a lot of things, and not excited for much. Also worried that I'm 27 soon and haven't achieved a great deal.

  1. I hate my personal space being invaded too - I tend to tut very loudly... I don't know how i cope on the tube in rush hour everyday! Looking lovely as usual Rachel. Adore the colours of your dress.

  5. Your dress is so cute! I feel the same about zoos and things, it does look like a beautiful place though. I think this weather is making everyone feel a bit down in the dumps, hopefully it'll at least stop raining soon! xxx

  19. Beautiful photos, I can't get over the colors of the plants! As a general rule, I absolutely avoid parks, zoos or any places of the sort on weekends for those reasons...
Random but do you think you'd ever write a blog post about taking blog photos and the awkwardness (and gawking people)you know, just the frustrating parts of it all? You really have a way with words and I can always relate when you write about these things!

  21. Awww these photos are lurrvly as usual. The flowers are beautiful!

That family sound annoying, i would have been tempted to give the toddler a boot though.

I get the achievement thing sometimes too but then i think bullshit! Who decides what is and what isn't an achievement- you're happy, in love, have a great job, have passions, your own flat....they're all pretty darn good achievements to me! Being happy in yourself is a brilliant achievment if you ask me.

    Love! xxxxxxxx

  22. :( I feel the ambivalence! I think the lack of a summer (or spring) so far isn't helping. I feel like I have missed my chance to be successful in my 20s now too haha...I think we probably need a good adventure somewhere!

  23. I love this dress and this is such a pretty backdrop! I hate annoying families, if you can't control your children, DON'T take them out in public! (I say this as one of 5 kids!!)

  24. Your dress is so lovely on you, it's such a great shape! I know what you mean about feelings in life - I turn 27 later in the year and I feel as if I imagined myself to be much further along the career path than I am now.

  29. That dress is so beautiful! I was going to bid on one on ebay the other day, but I think it suits brunettes better than blondes :)
Totally with you on the personal space in public, I had this massive group of men sit all around me on the train the other day when the rest of the carriage was pretty much empty and I got so annoyed, I was huffing and puffing for the whole rest of the journey!
